Assessing the Implication of Climate Change to Forecast Future Flood Using CMIP6 Climate Projections and HEC-RAS Modeling

چکیده
Climate change has caused uncertainty in the hydrological pattern including weather change, precipitation fluctuations, and extreme temperature, thus triggering unforeseen natural tragedies such as hurricanes, flash flooding, heatwave more. Because of these unanticipated events occurring all around globe, study influence climate on alteration flooding patterns gained a lot attention. This research intends to provide an insight into how future projected streamflow will affect flooding-inundation extent by comparing floodplain using both historical simulated scenarios. For data, model Atmosphere/Ocean General Circulation Model (AOGCM) developed Coupled Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) is used, which illustrates that flood increasing considering models. Furthermore, comparison existing inundation map Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) with generated data presents entire area maps, implying expansion compared FEMA needs be considered making emergency response plans. The effect from flow values, presented mathematically calculation percentage, infers watershed Rock River flood-prone area. goal insights importance forecasted for analysis offer necessary background needed strategize plan management.

today, scouring is one of the important topics in the river and coastal engineering so that the most destruction in the bridges is occurred due to this phenomenon. whereas the bridges are assumed as the most important connecting structures in the communications roads in the country and their importance is doubled while floodwater, thus exact design and maintenance thereof is very crucial. f...
Flood hazard zoning using HEC-RAS in GIS environment and impact of manning roughness coefficient changes on flood zones in Semi-arid climate
Development of rural areas in rivers margins and flood plains, without understanding and attention to the dynamical and hydrological conditions and upstream areas of the rivers will cause to increase flood risk and loss of life and financial. Flood zoning has many applications, in floodplain management. For management of the three major branches of the Halilrood River, Rabor, Roodar and Javaran...
متن کاملModeling Current and Future Potential Distributions of Caspian Pond Turtle (Mauremys caspica) under Climate Change Scenarios
Although turtles are the most threatened taxonomic group within the reptile class, we have a very limited understanding of how turtles respond to climate change. Here, we evaluated the effects of climate changes on the geographical distribution of Caspian pond turtle (Mauremys caspica). We used an ensemble approach by combining six species distribution models including artificial neural network...
متن کاملA flood risk projection for Soleimantangeh Dam against future climate change
A sensitivity analysis of the flood safety of Solaimantangeh dam using a regional climate change simulation is presented. Based on the output of the CCSM (Community Climate Change System Model) general circulation model, the NIRCM (North of Iran Regional Climate Model) computes regional scale output with 50 km spatial resolution and 21 vertical layers. Using the SRES (Special Report Emission Sc...
